To top it all off, this cocktail is so simple to make. Just muddle the strawberries, shake your margarita mix in a cocktail shaker with some ice, pour, top with a splash of champagne, and sip sip! Every hour is happy hour with this strawberry champagne margarita recipe.

What You Need to Make Strawberry Champagne Margaritas

  • Fresh strawberries:  Use ripe, juicy strawberries for the best flavor.
  • Tequila: We recommend using silver or blanco tequila for this recipe.
  • Fresh lime juice: Lime juice adds the perfect tanginess to balance out the sweetness of the strawberries and champagne.
  • Champagne: Any type of champagne will work in this recipe. Choose your fave!
  • Optional ingredients: Feel free to add triple sec or agave syrup to your cocktail for added sweetness.
  • Muddler: You’ll need a muddler to muddle the strawberries into a puree.
  • Cocktail shaker: A cocktail shaker makes it easy to mix and chill your ingredients for optimal flavor.

What can I use instead of champagne?

Don’t have any champagne? Prosecco or a white sparkling wine will work, too.

Can I use frozen strawberries?

Yes, you can use frozen strawberries for this recipe. Just let them thaw before muddling and using in the cocktail.

How to Store Leftover Margarita Mix

If you have any leftover margarita mix, store it in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Add champagne when ready to serve.

Refreshing, bubbly, and bursting with sweet strawberry flavor, these Strawberry Champagne Margaritas will be your go-to summer cocktail. You’ll love sipping on this delicious, fizzy drink by the pool or at your next backyard BBQ.

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh strawberries trimmed
  • 8 oz. tequila
  • 4 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 2 cups champagne*
  • Optional: 4 oz. triple sec or 2 tablespoons agave syrup for a sweeter margarita

Instructions 

  • Place strawberries in a large glass. Using a muddler, muddle the strawberries until they resemble puree.

  • Add tequila, lime juice, and strawberry puree to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake. If you would like to add a sweetener to the cocktail, add triple sec or agave syrup to the cocktail shaker as well.

  • Fill four cocktail glasses or champagne flute halfway full with ice. Top with champagne and garnish with a strawberry or lime.

Tips & Notes

  • Prosecco and sparkling wine will work, too.
  • Option to blend the strawberries in a high speed blender if you don’t have a cocktail muddler.
